I watched, very eagerly, the series premiere of the new SyFy (hate the new channel name spelling) show Warehouse 13. It's kinda like The X-Files meets Bones. Actually, I spent the first 40 minutes staring at the male lead wondering why he felt so familiar. He looks a little like David Boreanaz.
The show is about two Secret Service agents, Pete Lattimer (played by Eddie McClintock) and Myka Bering (played by Joanne Kelly), who are drawn away from Washington to South Dakota and Warehouse 13. They'll go from protecting the president to searching for objects with supernatural powers that are hard to find because they'll never go in knowing for what they are looking. Pete is the intuitive one of the pair who follows his instincts (or vibe as he calls it). Myka is the meticulous one who follows the rules and keeps things in order. He loves cookies. She hates sugar. It's a nice contrast. This looks like it will be an interesting show. You can visit the SyFy Warehouse 13 site for photos and the first episode if you haven't seen it yet. All the steampunk props are fantastic by the way. I love that keyboard and the videophones.

It's called America's Attic and aired Tuesday night (7 July) at 9 pm EST. Agents Lattimer and Bering save the President's life at the museum but run into Artie (Saul Rubinek) as he is securing an artifact (which is what caused the President to be in danger in the first place). Artie likes their moves and his boss, Mrs. Frederick, has them assigned to Warehouse 13 within hours. The each show up at the designated coordinated in South Dakota the next day at noon with neither knowing the other would be there. This is where Artie introduces them to what he calls America's Attic. It's massive the underground storehouse for the supernatural artifacts that come onto American soil. As a way to make sure they decide to stay with Warehouse 13 and not keep trying to get transferred back to Washington, they are sent out on a case the next morning.
The two partners travel to Seiver City (I think that's where it was), Iowa to investigate the unusual actions of a college boy. Through a series of deaths and odd incidents (including chanting in Italian), they discover that the object is a hair comb originally belonging to Lucretia Borgia that alters brain waves and can affect both the person wielding it as well as those they wield it against. Ultimately they neutralize it and save the day.
