Sam: Crap, Bella.
Dean: Bella? Crap.
That pretty much sums up the episode; leaves out a lot but it does complete the circle. As I typed it, I realized I didn't make a notation of who said it. I think I got it right. If I didn't, well, someone will say something and I'll change it. The little things I jot down sometimes make no sense later. When I'm in a hurry, I tend to condense things, use a little shorthand and write it in a way that truly needs to be translated. Hurry + gel ink pen = writing with which even I have a hard time. The fact that I may have had a Klondike chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwich in my hand at the time would not have helped.
When Bella walked in and started cozying up to Sam, I started thinking please let this be a dream. So glad it was. It left me weeping, I laughed so hard. Then Dean and the happy noises comment slayed me all over again. It was beautiful.
I was fascinated with the fact that Bobby did not know it was a dream. Does this mean that the guy slipped it to him without his knowledge or did he even drink the root? Did he just fall asleep and the guy kept him in the dream? It was the last one wasn't it? Even have those moments, where you don't know until you say it out loud? That was one of mine. Dur. Learning about how his wife died, well, was killed, and how Bobby got started hunting was nice. I wonder how many got started that way, with the death of a loved one, I mean.
Caffined up. As much as I love the line, it never works. I've tried. After a while, the minute you stop moving you fall asleep.
Ok, I glanced away and completely missed who the woman was. She really looked like that reaper that was after Dean in "In My Time of Dying." I got enough of a look to get the connotation. Sweet, little, secluded picnic with the girl next door. Something he never had. That came up in this episode a few times. The things that he has never had the chance to experience and the things he has never had the courage to face. That whole conversation with 'himself' was amazing. You could even tell which was talking because of changes in cadence and facial expression. When he lost it and admitted that his father was a crappy father, I was freakishly proud. How many times has he shot 'himself'? This was the second? Think maybe the lack of hesitation he has with shooting someone who looks exactly like he does may signal a deeper problem?
Damn, I wondered when Sam would take control of the dream. Hello, college boy, took you long enough to figure it out.
Dean: Hunt that bitch down.
Bella is really in for it now. Dean strikes me as someone who makes a baaaad enemy.
Finally, Dean finding some worth within himself and asking to be saved. Thank you. Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition.
Synopsis: Dean receives a call that Bobby is in a coma and he and Sam rush to Bobby's side. Once there, the boys realize that Bobby was on a hunt involving a root that enables dream walking. With assistance (that turns out to be self serving) from Bella, they drink a tea made from the root and manage to snap Bobby from the dream. There is a problem though. The guy that kept Bobby in the dreamworld now is locked onto Dean. They try to stay awake to hunt him before finally going into the dreamworld to fight him there. Dean faces demons of his own while Sam takes the guy out. Bella, being a backstabbing bitch, steals the Colt while they are doing this. The boys are going to have to track her down to get it back.
The next episode is one where Sam relives the same day over and over trying to prevent Dean's death. I'm excited. I love episodes like this one. I actually made a "SQUEEEEEE" sound when I saw the preview. Until then, I'm going to work on finishing season 1 quotes and get started on season 3; plus maybe get the synopsis of season 1 episodes done.
