Noun

Definition: a work of art that imitates the style of some previous work

               an incongruous combination of different styles

His paper was a pastiche of made up facts, bad statistics, and undocumented sources.

Supporting A Worthy Cause: IDEA League

IDEA League is a non-profit volunteer action league. It was started by parents of children diagnosed with Dravet's Syndrome which is a epileptic disorder (more info on Dravet's here). They do good work in promoting research and education about epilepsy. You can visit their site by clicking here.

7.13 Word of the Week: Apogee

Noun

Pronunciation: AP uh jee

Definition: the point in the orbit of the moon or of an artificial satellite that is at the greatest distance from the center of the earth

She was dressed in the apogee of fashion.

I now have Bedknobs and Broomsticks songs stuck in my head from this word.  It is part of the spell Eglantine Price used to turn people into rabbits: Filigree apogee pedigree perigee. You wouldn't think I would remember that after more than 20 years.
