Danny's former partner is found brutally murdered. When the Five-0 take a look at the case, they are warned of by Internal Affairs and Danny becomes convinced that only his team will find the killer. Jason Scott Lee guest stars.
Danny: Twelve years the guy wears a badge and you all looking at me like you don't know who he is. I need someone to help me out here.
Danny: Whoa. What's with the face?
Steve: I don't have a face.
Danny: Yes, you do. You have a face. Ok? I am a detective. It's what I do. I read people.
Steve: All right.
Danny: And you, my friend, have a face.
Steve: All right. I want to ask you something but I know it's going to piss you off.
Danny: Would you not be so judgmental with me?
Steve: I'm not judgmental.
Danny: Treat me like I'm some kind of hothead who can't think objectively. I can think objectively.
Steve: Really?
Danny: Yes, really. Ask away.
Steve: I'm so glad you're not a hothead. I would hate to work with someone like that.
Danny: So the question, if things go wrong, which of these guys you want?
Steve: I'll take the ugly one.
Danny: Good. They're both ugly.
Steve: Just for the record, if I pulled something like this, you'd be reading me the riot act about proper police procedure.
Danny: No, I'd probably just arrest you.
Steve: Compared to this hanging a guy off a roof and throwing a guy in a shark tank is pretty tame.
Danny: No, I disagree. I think the shark cage was way worse than this.
Steve: Whatever. You're wrong. I'm just saying next time if get a free pass, ok?
Danny: You know what? I'm done. If my word is not good enough for you, I don't know what I'm doing here.
Steve: Look, man, I know you're pissed. All right? I'm just trying to figure out if it's because they told you Meka was dirty or if it's because you found out he actually was dirty and you didn't know about it.
Danny: Hey, listen to me. This is not an ego thing. This is about Meka. He would not move off to Singapore and leave his wife and kid. You understand? I know that because he was my friend and he was my partner.
Steve: Right, but what is it you cops always say? Don't ignore the evidence.
Danny: Ok. Then let me ask you a question. Let's say I.A. accused me of skimming off a drug lord and they showed you a stack of evidence that suggested I did it. Would you believe them?
Steve: No, I wouldn't.
Danny: Why not?
Steve smiles.
Danny: Exactly.
Danny: What are you smirking at?
Steve: Nothing. It's just the no tie thing. I like it.
