Chris: Shot a lot of holes in the clouds back there. Anybody stop to reload?
Mary: I run the Clarion News. Where did you guys come from?
Chris: Saloon.
Mary: Where are you going?
Chris, Nathan, and Vin: Saloon.
Buck: Are there going to be ladies where you're going?
Chris: I imagine so.
Buck: Then I imagine I'm in.
Ezra: Well, sir, I abhor gambling and as such leave nothing to chance.
Nathan: Why would we want a cheater?
Chris: Might need one.
Mary: I'm just trying to scare the bad element away from this town.
Chris: Lady, I am the bad element.
Seminole Chief: Welcome. We greet you with hostility.
Chris: I think he means hospitality.
Vin: Nope, I think he means hostility.
Ezra: Of course, I'll expect you to applaud like I taught you.
Chris: I thought you said there were 20.
Seminole Chief: No, I asked if 20 would scare you.
Chris: 20 no. 40 yes.
Ezra: There are two kinds of people in this life, my friend. Those who seek battle and seem not to fear death like them, and those who avoid battle but will stand and fight to the death if their loved ones are threatened like them. That is true courage.
Commentary:
1) I adore this show and remember how eagerly I used to wait for new episodes. I know Westerns don't usually do well in these modern times (though it is over a decade old) and wish it had more chances.
2) It's a toss up who is my favorite character for the series: Vin (Eric Close) or Ezra (Anthony Starke). And, well, Buck (Dale Midkiff).
3) In my notes next to the quotes I wrote down while watching I have "Seminde?" written down and have no idea what the hell it means. Or it could be "Serninde." I have no idea. Ah, ha! Just figured it out. It says "Seminole." I hadn't known Seminole Indians had been herded that far west.
