Season 2 finale.
Josh, Aidan and Sally all try to find ways out of their troubles; each of them choosing violent actions that don't turn out quite like they expected.

Sally: You two are totally about to go on separate killing sprees for women. That is so hot.

Comments:
1) Sally, queen of the inappropriate comments.
2) This really was a WTF episode with characters taking paths that were vastly different that the preferences they had shown before. I'm still not sure what to think of it.
Now to the spoiler area. Highlight the underlined area to read.
3) On Henry: [ I'm surprised that Henry keeps trusting and forgiving Henry (though Henry does seem to make an effort to help). I'm not sure here if he ratted Aidan out in this situation or just failed to take out all the guards. "I'm so sorry, Aidan" can read both ways. The red rag was in place though so he may have squealed. From the looks of him hanging on the hook, he's probably going to regret even knowing anything about the situation. ]
4) Mother and Suren: [ I thought my mom and I had issues. Wow. Torturing her to teach her a lesson. Asking her to kill her lover and the only man who has ever supported her. Killing your own daughter. That is one fracked up bitch. Aidan's line "now you have to live with what you did" and reminding Mother that she killed the only being that ever loved her was a nice touch. ]
5) Aidan: Actually I don't think this one needs a spoiler. That was the sweetest thing when he visited Suren's burial spot every year on the anniversary.
6) The ending: [So Aidan is buried. Sally is in limbo and thinks she made a mistake. Who knows what happened with Josh, Nora, and Ray. Either one could have shot anyone of the three. Hell, Nora could have shot herself to get Josh to stop trying to save her. I hate it when they go to black and then have a gunshot. That's a cheap closing. ]
7) I wonder how the writers are going to dig themselves out of this next season. One thing's for sure, you can't call this a "remake" of the UK version.

Being Human: Partial Eclipse of the Heart

Season 2, Episode 12

 

An eclipse has some unusual effects while Sally tries to re-befriend Zoe, Josh gets ready to make his relationship with Julia public, and Aidan gets down to the business of living under the radar.

Aidan: The turn around on this particular betrayal is a little fast even for you.

 

Aidan: Freedom on her terms is no freedom at all.

 

Julia: I loved you enough, Josh. You just never believed it.

Comments:
1) I think I'm just going to consider Kyle Schmid as part of the regular cast of the show and not list him as a guest star. He's been in at least half of the episodes for the season.
2) For everyone who hasn't been watching because they think this is just a remake of the British version, really needs to give Being Human (Syfy) another shot. Beyond the first 3 or 4 episodes of the first season, this version is uniquely its own. True I haven't watched the UK version since the third season (its been renewed for season 4), but for the parts I watched, they were nothing like this.
3) The effects of the partial eclipse were an unexpected and fantastic plot device to allow for more character growth.

4) Re: Henry [ Okay, I was wrong last week on my prediction for what would happen with Aidan and Henry. I hadn't imagined that this would all be planned out as part of the get away. I should have known better. ]
5) Re: Danny [ Limbo might have actually changed Danny for the better. He at least seems to recognize that what he did to Sally (while she was alive, while she was dead, and while they both were dead) was wrong. Not that I think this excuses anything. He was still an abusive and murderous bastard. ]
6) Re: Josh and Julia [ Kudos for his sacking up and getting ready to tell Julia about being a werewolf. How did he not realize that he was talking to her ghost though? You'd think it would be a little more noticeable. You have to wonder how many people he talks to in the hospital are ghosts and not living then. I know. I know. That was all to further the plot, screw making sense or being consistent. That has to be a heartbreaking thing for him when he makes peace with loving her while a wolf and then losing her. I might have also been wrong about Julia (I hate saying that). Her door came so quickly because whe was at peace and had no unfinished business after figuring out why Josh left before.]
7) Re: Aidan [ I'm hoping he'll be back in town for the final episode of the season. He has no real reason to run now that Suren has returned. ]
8) Re: Everyone [ And now they're all back to being alone and disappointed. ]
9) Remember next week is the season 2 finale. After that, we'll have to wait until next year for more Being Human entertainment.

Season 2, Episode 11

 

Josh and Julia double date with Aidan and Suren to see if the couples have a future together. That may have been an unnecessary precaution when Mother visits and Nora returns. Kyle Schmid guest stars.

Josh: History shows that us ignoring your problems doesn't really work out well for anyone.

 

Josh: You all right? You just seem extra broody today.

 

Aidan: No one knows the future they're supposed to have.

 

Nora: I'm not in pain because of what I am. I'm in pain because of what I've done.

Comments:
1) Doesn't Julia just seem off to you? There's something strange about that character. She's admitted to pretty much stalking Josh and she was acting weird during the dinner with Suren. I bet she's going to have some exceptionally fucked up plot twist and go all Fatal Attraction on them.
2) Highlight for spoiler: [ Is Nora just yanking Josh's chain with the "cure" for being a werewolf? Or more correctly is Bryn? I know in most werewolf fiction that comes up as the solution for that particular problem, but it doesn't play right here. I think Bryn was either trying to get Nora to kill Josh in revenge for Connor or she was trying to turn Josh into a killer.]
3) Highlight for a different spoiler: [ After their talk where Aidan mentions that Henry tends to blow plans up, why did he trust him? Dude, you created him. You should know better. Certain personality traits never change. No, I don't think that Henry and gang end up killing Aidan in the next episode. I think that Suren will get caught in the crossfire and end up being the one to die. If that's the case, hopefully Henry is the one to take the blame. I'd miss Kyle Schmid if the character dies though. That young man grew up very nicely.]
4)Sally kind of has a Sam Winchester in Season 7 vibe going on, doesn't she?

Season 2, Episode 10

 

Josh and Aidan become trapped in the house with Zoe as she tries to help Sally find her way back from the Reaper. Too bad it's the night of the full moon and Aidan hasn't eaten in 24 hours.

Josh: What's the non-corporeal equivalent of cold water in the face?

 

Sally: You can't save yourself if you don't know the danger you're in.

 

Aidan: It tastes different.
Josh: Different? Different how? Oh, you know what, I just ate a bunch of asparagus.

 

Sally: I figure if I have to shack up with a monster I'd rather it be you guys.

Comments:
1) Very nice geeky moment when Aidan says, "Don't you think that's a little..." and makes a Vulcan salute. I swear just knowing what an incredible geek Sam Witwer is makes him even hotter. I just adore a geek, being one myself.
2) I like the turn where Aidan, who has always been the strong one who everyone goes to for advice and assistance, becomes the one struggling and Josh steps up to the plate to be strong. The writers have put a great deal into character development and made Josh, Aidan and Sally very diverse and complex. Thank you writers!

Season 2, Episode 9

 

Aidan brings Henry home with him while Josh becomes friends with Julia, his ex-fiance, and Sally digs deeper into Reaper territory. Jay Baruchel guest stars.

Henry: I told you I can't kill men.
Aidan: I know, but that was before you met me.

Comments:
1) "can't kill men" sounds a little specific to me.
2) Is Kyle Schmid now considered a regular part of the cast? Timing wise his name was listed differently from the other guest actors. If so, yea!
3) I love the writers Jeremy Carver, Anna Fricke, and Michael Ostrowski. This episode rocked. So unexpected.


Spoiler: (highlight the area in brackets to read)
[Sally went Reaper and this was all hallucination on her part? I never expected that though in many ways it fits with how they've developed her character. So most of her scenes this season weren't real. I wonder how the guys will bring her back.]

Season 2, Episode 8

 

Sally must face the Reaper while Aidan deals with Henry and the orphans. Josh meanwhile goes out to drown his sorrows over Nora with his sister and ends up drinking with his ex-fiance, Julia, as well. Kyle Schmid, Dusan Dukic, and Natalie Brown guest star.

Reaper: I've got to say I am not overflowing with sympathy for you.

 

Sally: I can't believe I'm asking for a "how to" on ghost murder.

Comments:
1) Still loving Kyle Schmid as Henry (even when he does the puppy dog eyes) and Dusan Dukic as the Reaper. Sweet, soulful and tortured on one side and a menacing, alluring psychopath on the other.
2) I put the first letter of a characters name in my notebook next to their quotes. For the last quote from this episode, I have an "A" and was thinking that wasn't an Aidan quote. Nope, I accidentally called Sally "Annie." Whoops. Getting my versions mixed up.
3) That is an inappropriately placed candlestick in the photo at the top of the post. That or I have a dirty mind. Who am I kidding? I just have a dirty mind.

Season 2, Episode 7

 

Things come to a head between Josh and Nora and Aidan gets thrown into the fight. Sally figures out who is haunting her.

Josh: Why is the bathroom mirror calling me a whore?

 

Josh: Also neither of us recently played Maria von Trapp to a group of ghostly teenage wastelands.

Comments:
1) If iron can dissipate a ghost, how can Sally hold it?
2) I bet the prop guys had a fun time playing furniture jenga.
3) Dusan Dukic makes a fabulous Reaper.
4) It was very cowardly of Josh to throw Aidan under the bus like that with Nora. Nut up Josh.
5) This episode was a great reminder that this isn't a remake of the UK version. I watched it through season 3 (Annie and Mitchell [Sally and Aidan counterparts] together made me want to stab myself with a fork). I hope that Josh realizes that his expectations of Aidan are pushing him farther into where he doesn't want, or is scared, to go. That is one of my problems with Josh; he is so judgmental and isn't very inclined to listen to the other side of the story.
6) This was a great episode and a major turning point for the series. I can't wait to see where it goes from here.

Season 2, Episode 6

 

Aidan has to face his maker, Bishop, while deciding how to deal with his son, Henry. Sally's mother dies and the experience isn't what Sally expects. Meanwhile, Josh has to figure out how to deal with the cops looking for Nora under suspicion of her ex's death. Mark Pellegrino and Kyle Schmid guest star.

Bishop: Mr. Holier Than Thou turned out to be the most ruthless one of us all, didn't he?

 

Bishop: Come on, let's stake this bitch.

 

Josh: Why am I yet again cooking dinner for people who don't eat?

Comments:
1) I love seeing Bishop again. Mark Pellegrino is such a great actor and the character has some of the best lines of the series.
2) Were those just hallucinations or was Bishop actually haunting Aidan? I'm leaning more towards hallucinations since no one else saw him.
3) And, man, was Aidan drunk off his ass? With the way he's been acting, do Josh and Sally actually realize he's drinking live again? And apparently gorging himself.
4) I'm rewatching the first season on Netflix and Aidan smiled so much more in that season. I miss that. Sam Witwer has a great smile.
5) So glad that Henry (Kyle Schmid) wasn't killed off yet. I think the character will cause Aidan to take a good hard look at himself and what he is becoming. (Please writers, let this happen. I imagine you can get some deep and moving scenes out of it.) Also, I like Kyle Schmid.

Aidan goes further with Suren and begins to help her secure the city, but runs across his past on the way. Sally becomes addicted to possessing a woman to have sex and almost can't un-possess her which causes problems for the woman. Josh and Nora face her ex and while Josh takes it a step too far, Nora moves in step with the purebreds. Kyle Schmid guest stars.

Aidan: The curse of those of use with darker urges is that when we let the cravings inside us take over someone else pays the price.

Comments:
1) Just noticed that Kyle Schmid's character's name is Henry. How did I possibly miss that earlier?
2) Not to gloat, but totally called Sally's behavior last week.
3) And why do I keep trying to add a "u" to words. I just tried to spell behavior as "behaviour?" I was doing that with "favourite" the other day too.

Season 2, Episode 4

 

Aidan struggles with his sobriety and Sally faces a hard realization when she attends the ghostly support group. Josh helps a strange wolf break out of the psych ward and may have found a sponsor for his research.

Josh: If you hate what you are, you will do anything to deny it. You'll feed the lie until it becomes real, but who you are doesn't go away. It waits for you.

 

Josh: And this you're going to love, they want to help me find a cure.
Aidan: Bastards.

Comments:
1) Kyle Schmid. Playing a vampire. I haven't seen him in anything since Blood Ties went off the air. He's good at young arrogance. I don't like his hair slicked back though. I miss those curls. Which sounds less pervy to say now since he was 21 or 22 when filming BT. I hope he'll be in more episode. I have a feeling his character may have been involved with Suren's downfall.
2) Will Aidan go all dark side (or Angelus if you prefer) now that he's given in to Suren and started publicly drinking live again? I'm curious to see what he's like in his former state. (Hey, I can't be the only person who though Angelus was more entertaining to watch than Angel though at least Aidan isn't all broody.) There's so much back-story to Aidan we're missing and I can't wait for them to reveal it.
3) Sally still annoys me. I'm going out on a limb and guessing (partially based on the last minute or so of the episode and the title of the next, "Addicted to Love") that she's going to start, and quickly become addicted to, possessing people in love all because a guy she had a crush on while alive and maybe, possibly, considered dating while dead is now seeing someone else. I hope the character evolves a lot more over the course of the season. I don't want this to end up like the UK version. I spent so much time yelling at Annie or muting the TV when she talked that it became pointless to watch.
4) Is the "pureblood" issue a prelude to another pregnancy for Nora?
5) Josh, I think, realized that he was holding on to old prejudices while he was refusing to work with the brother and sister. Aidan though was giving himself permission to fall back into old ways as much as he was encouraging Josh to go for it.
