When an undercover agent is taken as part of a hostage situation at a oil company in Mexico, Annie and Joan are sent in to scout out the situation with Ben Mercer as backup. Eion Bailey guest stars.

Joan: There are two kind of operatives: one that's needed in the field and one that needs the field. You have to decide which kind you're going to be.

 

Jai: Do you know what the definition of treason is?

1) I love that Ben has become "Jay at the desk" for Annie. When a guy reaches "Jay at the desk," you're no longer thinking of him as your ex. He's just another guy at that point. Read Jill Connor Browne's Sweet Potato Queen books for more info on that.
2) No, Jai, don't become entangled with your father's feinish ways. Trust in your team that they won't automatically associate you with him when it all comes out.

While on vacation at the International Jazz Festival in Istanbul, Auggie catches the voice of the man who blinded him. From an ocean away, will Annie be able to stop him from taking revenge?

Annie: You know you should learn to say goodbye when a phone conversation ends. It's what normal people do.

Auggie: Also, probably best if the blind man isn't in charge of hiding the bug.

 

Auggie: I read somewhere that wars are not fought to kill people. They're fought to affect political change, to move resources and borders. Maybe that would be true if you were looking at it from a thousand miles and hundred years away. To us, it was mostly about killing. Maybe because we'd been sent there to kill.

 

Auggie: The Purple Heart is the only award the Army gives out for which you are not recommended, but entitled from being injured. I didn't think I was entitled at all so I didn't tell anyone about it until now.

 

Auggie: When you're blind, you forget about things like color, faces, but I still remember that picture, every face and every color in it. I guess it's why I still carry it around with me which probably sounds strange since I can't see it, but I can. Crisp and vivid. Everyday. It's the only thing I have from the war that seems pure, almost like it's from a time of peace.

Auggie: You can always tell the type of person you're dealing with based on their look. Hackers are the ones in t-shirts with no sense of personal hygiene. Blue jackets and khakis are always law enforcement. Bureau's never been known for their subtlety.

Annie: Doesn't it strike you as odd how many criminals are able to just exist here?
Auggie: Not exist, thrive. This the wild west of the information age.

 

Annie: Natasha was unresponsive to our initial offer.
Auggie: Epic fail would be a better term.
