This is very well written and has some amazing revelations about then nature of relationships.
Series 2, Episode 3
As Sherlock's fame grows, his arch nemesis, Moriarty, undertakes a massive crime spree with intrusions at a major prison, the Bank of London and the Tower of London. After the trial, Sherlock's popularity takes a dive and people begin to question his authenticity.
John: He means "Thank you."
Sherlock: Do I?
John: Just say it.
John: Pressing case, is it?
Sherlock: They're all pressing till they're solved.
John: Intelligent, fine. Le's give smart ass a wide berth.
Sherlock: There are two types of fans. Catch me before I kill again Type A and...
Riley: Uh-huh. What's Type B?
Sherlock: Your bedroom's just a taxi ride away.

John: No, I don't which is why I find the face so annoying.
Moriarty: Every fairy tale needs a good old fashioned villain.
Moriarty: In a world of locked rooms, the man with the key is king, and honey, you should see me in a crown.
Moriarty: Don't be scared. Falling's just like flying except there's a more permanent destination.
Sherlock: Anyone can walk in anywhere if they pick the right moment.
Sherlock: Dust is eloquent.
Sherlock: You can't kill an idea, can you? Not once it's made a home there.
John: Sherlock, I don't want the world believing you're...
Sherlock: That I am what?
John: A fraud.
John: No one can fake being such an annoying dick all the time.
Sherlock: Take my hand.
John: Now people will definitely talk.
Sherlock: You're wrong, you know. You do count. You've always counted and I've always trusted you.
Mycroft: John. I'm sorry. Tell him, will you?
Sherlock: Alone is what I have. Alone protects me.
John: No, friends protect people.
Moriarty: That's your weakness. You want everything to be clever.
Sherlock: Yes, but I'm not my brother remember. I am you. Prepared to do anything. Prepared to burn. Prepared to do what ordinary people won't do. You want me to shake hands with you in hell? I shall not disappoint.
Sherlock: Oh, I may be on the side of the angels, but don't think for one second that I am one of them.
Sherlock: Nobody could be that clever.
John: You could.
Comments:
1) Every one of the administrators of the buildings who had intrusions, as well as Lestrade, were drinking from "Keep Calm and Carry On" mugs.
2) Cumberbatch has an amazing drawl. Yes, I believe people outside of the American south can have drawls. His is a little like Alan Rickman's.
3) Oh, look. The actor who played Jen on The IT Crowd.
4) Yes, that's the correct response when you know someone is gunning for you, put on a pot of tea. So utterly civilized.
5) Sally Donovan causes rage mute for me. Every time she starts talking I want to smack her. She's so freaking smug about being "right" about Sherlock. Cow. I really need to see the actress in something else to make sure the impression doesn't stick.
6) Andrew Scott. Wow! He is just amazing as Moriarty. He brings such life to the character.
7) I'm not counting this part as a spoiler because the end of the episode involves something that is a large part of the Holmes cannon. Still, read this part at your own risk.
Since my mother is now addicted to the show, I've been hearing her theories ever since she saw this episode. Obviously, Molly played a large part in how Sherlock survived. He had the whole plan worked out ahead of time. We're currently assuming that all the witnesses were part of his homeless army and that it was Moriarty's body that was thrown off the roof. When John was knocked down by the cyclist, it was intentional so they could swap Sherlock's body for the dead one. The witnesses did try to keep John from taking the pulse.
Series 2, Episode 2
Sherlock and Watson travel to the moors near the military base of Baskerville to investigate decades old stories of deadly giant hounds. Russell Tovey guest stars.
Sherlock: John. I need some. Get me some.
John: No.
Sherlock: Get me some.
John: No. Cold turkey. We agreed, no matter what.
Sherlock: Please.
John: You're showing off.
Sherlock: Of course. I'm a showoff. That's what we do.
John: Did we just break into a military base to investigate a rabbit?
Sherlock: Me? There's nothing wrong with me.
John: Funny doesn't suit you. Let's stick to ice.
Sherlock: Some people who aren't geniuses have the ability to stimulate it in others.
John: Hold on. You were saying sorry a minute ago. Don't spoil it.
Sherlock: One mention of Baskerville and he sends down my handler to spy on me incognito. Is that why you're calling yourself Greg?
John: That's his name.
Sherlock: Is it?
Lestrade: Yes, if you ever bothered to find out.
Stapleton: The only limits are ethics and the law, and both of those things can be very flexible.
Sherlock: I see.
John: No, you don't.
Sherlock: No, I don't. Sentiment?
John: Sentiment.
Comments:
Sorry, I've been sitting on this for over a week and just haven't had the time. Of course, since it's been over a week since I've seen it I can't remember the specifics of what I wanted to say and only have my notes to go on (and apparently a power failure as I type this). So this will be a short commentary until I get the chance to rewatch Sherlock (which should be after I finish series 1 and 2 of Wallander). And there goes the power again. Sonofabitchinthunderstorm.
1) Does anyone really have Morse code memorized anymore? It can't be that common for people to know. Of course (as I was making the notation) I realize that Tom Hiddleston can improvise in ancient Greek so maybe not knowing these things is just a deficiency in the U.S. educational system.
2) A wall of glass may not have been the best of ideas in an area known for massive, murderous hounds.
3) All the beeping and phone sounds make me nuts in this show. I keep thinking they're from mine and not on the TV.
4) Tovey really goes all out when he shrieks. That's an amazing pitch he can hit.
5) When did Mycroft capture Moriarty?
In 2010 the BBC resurrected Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson to great acclaim from fans. Steven Moffitt and Mark Gatiss have crafted an elegant and modern world for Holmes and Watson to work and blessed it with truly gifted actors. Series (season to the US) 2 is available on PBS.com and series 3 will air in 2013.

Series 2, Episode 1
Sherlock is distracted from piecing together a puzzle by the introduction of Irene Adler after whom he is sent because of a collection of compromising photographs. Lara Pulver guest stars as Irene Adler.
Watson: People want to know you're human.
Sherlock: Why?
Sherlock: Tell us from the start. Don't be boring.
Watson: Do you just carry on talking when I'm away?
Sherlock: I don't know. How often are you away?
Watson: And that's as modest as he gets.
Watson: I always hear "punch me in the face" when you're speaking, but it's usually subtext.
Sherlock: Stop boring me and think; it's the new sexy.
Mycroft: He's Sherlock. How will we ever know what goes on in that funny, odd head?
Watson: There is no usual in this case.
Comments:
1) Andrew Scott may be a genius. He does a brilliant job of incorporating menace, intelligence and slight ineptitude. The first minutes of the episode show that even in well planned moments of menace and aggression that real life can intrude. I also adore the fact that he has Staying Alive as his ringtone (I wonder if she is the one who planted that one). I just can't figure out why he is so familiar. I've looked through his filmography on IMDB and nothing rings a bell. It's been making me nuts ever since I saw the series 1 finale. Why are you so familiar, you cute, charming, little man?!
2) Defenestration!
3) This episode reminded me that under all that intellect lies a good hearted man. At the Christmas party, Sherlock went on at Molly (part of me believes he thinks he's teasing her) in what really was a cruel fashion (though not to his eyes) but backed off and gave a heartfelt apology when he realized that the supposed "boyfriend" he was on about was him. I think he did regret what he said and how he said it. One review I read mentioned Asperger's and I think that may be a good point about this Holmes. He really doesn't realize how regular people interact and how far off base he is with it.
Another point in his favor is how he treats Mrs. Hudson when [she is taken hostage by the Americans]. He is very protective of her and his point is both [her safety and a bit of vengeance in her honor. ]
Oh, and before I forget again: [ He saved her?! How in the world did he manage to do that without Watson or Mycroft knowing? ]
